The Bridge Proposal: A Solution to the Current Sovereign Debt Crises and to Restore Growth

The Forum for Social Studies (FSS), the Finance for Development Lab (FDL), and Columbia University’s Initiative for Policy Dialogue (IPD) are pleased to invite you to join them online next week for a workshop that will serve as the launch and discussion platform for a pioneering Policy Paper titled “The Bridge Proposal: A Solution to the Current Sovereign Debt Crises and to Restore Growth”.

The event will take place next week in Addis Ababa during the Preparatory Committee for the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD).

The paper, co-authored by Joseph E. Stiglitz, Martin Guzman, Vera Songwe, Ishac Diwan, and Martin Kessler, presents an evolved version of the “Bridge Proposal” issued by FDL at the end of 2023. It comes at a crucial time when many developing countries are facing liquidity and sustainability crises, and the global community is seeking effective measures to support their economic stability and progress towards sustainable development goals.

Don’t forget to register to join the discussions online and follow us for further updates!
